This Resolution makes slight amendments to early Resolutions of Parliament to ensure that the Resolutions in question are consistent with modern legislative standards, and repeals obsolete early Resolutions.

Article 1. Preface

The following Articles of this Resolution shall be considered Resolution Amendments to the Resolutions named in the respective Article titles. The Speaker of the Union and Librarians of Parliament are urged to create independent pages containing the Amendments under the names of the Amendments.

Article 2. Amendment 1 to the Supremacy of Cookies Resolution

The Supremacy of Cookies Resolution shall be amended to read as follows:

WHEREAS cookies are a good and delicious dessert and snack food; and
WHEREAS Eggy216 raised regional awareness of cookies;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that cookies be established as the official and traditional dessert and snack food of the Social Liberal Union.

Article 3. Amendment 1 to the Commend Eggy216 Resolution

The Commend Eggy216 Resolution shall be amended to read as follows:

WHEREAS the Free Land of Eggy216 has done commendable and exceptional work for the Social Liberal Union; and
WHEREAS the Open Parliament is grateful for both Eggy216's work and leadership; and
WHEREAS Eggy216 raised regional awareness of cookies;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Eggy216 be commended by this Open Parliament.

Article 4. Amendment 1 to the Give Dog Bird "Repeat Offender" Status Resolution

Give Dog Bird "Repeat Offender" Status Resolution shall be repealed in its entirety.

Article 5. Amendment 1 to the Establishment of the Church of Ainland Resolution

The Establishment of the Church of Ainland Resolution shall be amended to read as follows:

WHEREAS many members of the Social Liberal Union recognize Ainland as God; and
WHEREAS said members wish for the Open Parliament to recognize their religion, the Church of Ainland;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Church of Ainland, following the Ainish Bible, their set of holy books, the Ainish Bible, be recognized as a religion of the Social Liberal Union.

Article 6. Amendment 1 to the Establishment of Featured Day Resolution

The Establishment of Featured Day Resolution shall be amended to read as follows:

WHEREAS, on August 16, 2012, the Social Liberal Union was recognized as the Featured Region on NationStates; and
WHEREAS, on this date, the Social Liberal Union was displayed proudly upon the World page for all to see;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, in recognition of this historic event in Social Liberal Union history, August 16th shall henceforth be known as "Featured Day."

Article 7. Amendment 1 to the Call for Parliamentary Cleanup Resolution

The Call for Parliamentary Cleanup Resolution shall be repealed in its entirety.

Article 8. Amendment 1 to the Supplementary Organization of Laws Resolution

The Supplementary Organization of Laws Resolution shall be amended to read as follows:

WHEREAS the organization of records of the Open Parliament is provided for by the Constitution; and
WHEREAS the current system does not provide for the citation of legislative proposals; and
WHEREAS citations simplify discussion of proposals; and
WHEREAS a supplementary system of guidelines is necessary to complete the organization of records of the Open Parliament;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, in citations, the following formats be used:
  • Proposed Acts of Parliament be prefixed PA, followed by the sequential number of their proposal or passage;
  • Proposed Act Amendments be prefixed PAa, followed by the sequential number of their proposal or passage;
  • Proposed Resolutions of Parliament be prefixed PR, followed by the sequential number of their proposal or passage;
  • Proposed Resolution Amendments be prefixed PRa, followed by the sequential number of their proposal or passage;
  • Proposed Constitutional Amendments be prefixed PCa, followed by the sequential number of their proposal or passage.

Article 9. Amendment 1 to the Election Winner Documentation Resolution

The Election Winner Documentation Resolution shall be amended to read as follows:

WHEREAS the announcement of winners of elections are often posted on the Regional Message Board; and
WHEREAS such announcements may be difficult to find after long periods of time;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that in all future elections, the winner(s) be declared and recorded on both the Regional Message Board and in the corresponding forum thread(s).

Article 10. Amendment 1 to the Civil Communications Resolution

The Civil Communications Resolution shall be repealed in its entirety.
