Nominations and campaigning for the position of World Assembly Delegate opened at 00:01 UTC on 27 October 2016, and closed one week later. The Interim Speaker, Grolsch, served as the Election Administrator. The final vote was verified by Member State Korbinas. There were 15 valid votes of 15 total votes cast, with 1 abstention.[1] The incumbent Delegate, Mons Garle, was eligible for re-election to their third and final consecutive term in office, and won the election after gaining more first preference votes than Dermin.

Freeland Newworldia nominated themselves on 26 October, but withdrew on the 28th. Austerain nominated themselves and Grolsch on the 26th, but they withdrew on the 29th and Grolsch declined the nomination. Mons Garle nominated themselves on the 26th. Eggy216 nominated Grolsch on the 28th, but they declined the nomination again.[2]
