Destorio was a significant state in the early days of the Social Liberal Union, and was instrumental in the creation of the First Constitution of the Social Liberal Union.

On 4 October 2012, Azerzia, first Speaker of the Union, said of Destorio:

"On a more somber note, it is SLU Remembrance Day everyone. It is a day dedicated to the states which helped form our Union to the way it is now, but have sinced moved on. In particular, it remembers Destorio who served as a Second Founder for us. Destorio was the administrator of the first forum, determined the initial Cabinet positions by writing the first cabinet act, was one of the writers of the first Constitution and was a member of the first Cabinet. The position of Speaker of the Union was created so that he could hold it; sadly, he went inactive before the election could be held. He administered the first Constitutional Delegate election and set precedents which we still keep in mind."[1]
