WHEREAS, long-established and respected embassies, such as the one between the Social Liberal Union and the Democratic Socialist Assembly, should not be altered without extraordinary cause;

AND WHEREAS, the popular communications channels of the Democratic Socialist Assembly have, over a period of months, succumbed to the authoritarian control of the person known as 'DankAss Communes' or 'Kathina Dakani';

AND WHEREAS, any criticism of the actions of the aforementioned 'DankAss Communes' or 'Kathina Dakani' tends to be met with harsh recriminations, frequently by total removal of the criticizer from the popular communication channels of the Democratic Socialist Assembly, thus effectively ostracizing them from regional affairs;

AND WHEREAS, several recent changes to legislation in the Democratic Socialist Assembly have severely restricted the ability of members of the region to actively participate in regional voting and other affairs;

AND WHEREAS, those criticizing these changes have also faced recriminations and have been effectively ostracized from the region;

IT IS CONCLUDED that the Democratic Socialist Assembly no longer meets the requirements of the Social Liberal Union for maintaining embassies, in the following ways:

  1. The Democratic Socialist Assembly, as a result of DankAss Communes/Kathina Dakani, contains a significant, unelected, and unaccountable "administrative or purportedly apolitical [function]", which the Social Liberal Union recognizes as inherently political under Section 1 of the Foreign Relations Realignment Act; and,
  2. As in the examples enumerated in this Resolution, the Democratic Socialist Assembly has perverted the requirement of rule of law in regions with which it has an embassy, which is grounds for embassy closure under Section 2 of the Foreign Relations Realignment Act; and,
  3. DankAss Communes/Kathina Dakani has consolidated an executive, pseudo-legislative, and pseudo-judicial combination of power over the Democratic Socialist Assembly, which is grounds for embassy closure under Section 3 of the Foreign Relations Realignment Act; and,
  4. The undue unaccountability of DankAss Communes/Kathani Dakani, both by operation of Democratic Socialist Assembly law and in practice, is further grounds for embassy closure under Section 4 of the Foreign Relations Realignment Act; and,
  5. The Democratic Socialist Assembly may no longer be considered "democratically structured and supporting democracy at the very minimum" as required by the basic embassy requirements outlined in Article 10, Section 3 of the Constitution of the Social Liberal Union;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the embassy between the Social Liberal Union and the Democratic Socialist Assembly be ordered closed; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is the opinion of the Open Parliament that the closure of embassies with the Democratic Socialist Assembly is deeply unfortunate, and that it is the intent of the Open Parliament to propose embassies anew should the conditions enumerated in this resolution, especially the presence and power of DankAss Communes/Kathina Dakani, be resolved.
