Nominations and campaigning for the position of World Assembly Delegate opened at 04:15 UTC on 8 April 2016, and closed one week later. The Speaker, Anaaxes, served as the Election Administrator. The final vote was verified by Member State Grolsch. There were 4 valid votes of 4 total votes cast, with 1 abstention.[1] The incumbent Delegate, Mons Garle, was eligible for re-election to their second consecutive term in office, and won the election after gaining more first preference votes than Lawattsia.

Lawattsia nominated themselves on 7 April, and Mons Garle nominated themselves on the 8th.[2]
